Supported by the Jack Bloor Fund, last weekend I travelled to Trieste, Italy to compete for England at the U23 International Road Running Championship. It was an amazing opportunity to compete against the top athletes in Europe and test my fitness as I start my winter season.
The 10km race followed the seafront as we raced back into the town centre, finishing in the town square, which created an amazing atmosphere. After a conservative first half, I was able to break away in a small group and finished 4th in a PB of 33:43. I was also really proud to be the first England athlete home and led England to a team bronze medal.
The trip was made even better by plenty of Italian pizza and gelato, and I am so grateful to the Jack Bloor Fund for supporting me in this opportunity.
