l competed yesterday at the European Triathlon Cup in Coimbra. I had a solid swim with a very close first buoy to contend. Coming out roughly 10 seconds down from the lead swimmer meant I had to work very hard through T1 and the start of the bike to make the front break-away group and ended up bridging the gap after a few minutes.
The bike course was very fast with a few sharp inclines and fast corners and as a group of 12 we managed to stay away from the chasers going into T2.
The run was an interesting course including a lot of twists and turns around the river and adjacent park. I managed a solid run leg building into the second lap where I finished 6th overall in the elite women’s field and first GBR athlete.
